The R&A Women's British senior amateur championships was held at Saunton Sands over 4 days. Jane Sly, who qualified 57th in the women's competition was tied 1st after day 1 in testing conditions. Day 2 was a challenging day with 25mph winds and brutal rough on the East course, Jane slipped to 12th on the leader board but made the first cut of 20 quite comfortably. Day 3 saw Jane improve her position to 4th and made the Final Cut to 20. After the 4th round, Jane finished 10th in a highly competitive field from across the world most of whom were international players with plus handicaps.
Having failed to make the first cut the last 4 years by 1 shot, a 10th place was an exceptional result.
